What we are looking for
- An enthusiastic commercially-orientated operational leader experienced in end to end employer-led skills delivery (including apprenticeships), implementing bespoke employer solutions, developing commercial income, and delivery of job outcomes based employability training.
- An effective team builder who can inspire and motivate people to collaborate in order to achieve growth in priority areas such as employer engagement, commercial income, higher level qualifications, apprenticeships and diversified income streams including European Social Fund.
- An ambitious person who strives to exceed targets and grow business streams – who can identify and implement realistic new opportunities.
- Knowledge, experience and ability to drive the end to end sales function.
- Someone who enjoys managing a wide variety of operational areas and collaborating with different organisational teams.

Purpose of the Job
To be the operational lead to plan and fully achieve and exceed the College’s contractual KPIs including income, quality, customer satisfaction and compliance targets for the Adults employer-led, employability and commercial areas.
To build on excellent employer engagement foundations to spearhead significant increase in employer-led skills delivery solutions with specific focus on growing commercial income.
Manage staff and resources to establish highly successful, collaborative and agile teams.
To provide operational leadership that motivates teams to implement market responsive offers, in particular for employers, and against local (LEP) priorities and to anticipate and adapt to future demand.
To work with key stakeholders and establish excellent working relationships.
This role leads on Employer pathways and there are four fundamental areas of accountability

For the above key result areas
- Plan, develop, manage and monitor a board and balanced curriculum offer that supports the Colleges’ strategic objectives, reflects funding priorities, raises commercial income and meets the needs of students with high levels of satisfaction.
- Line management of teams comprising Apprenticeships, Employer-engagement, Commercial, Employability, ESF and community learning. To adopt a strong supportive, clear open and flexible leadership style that influences and motivates staff to reach their potential. To manage financial resources in line with the college’s regulations and processes.
- Lead on business growth - creating market sensitive employability, Apprenticeship and other programmes to support the local, regional and national funding agenda whilst also establishing and growing the commercial offer.
The post will be part of a Senior Management Team of three Heads (ESOL/Functional Skills; Access – Higher Level; Employer-led, Employability & Commercial). The post will work in close collaboration to champion the strategic direction of the College’s adult vocational and commercial agenda as well as creating pathways and progression into employment, Apprenticeships, Higher Apprenticeships and HE.
